River Cities Chapter
Winter 2012
We have had an interesting Fall Season! We had a fantastic student turn-out in October, with 72 students attending! Way to go!! We even had some students from the Columbia Community College!
The most students in attendance were from Sanford-Brown, and they won a $100.00 to do with what they want! One of our student members from RCCMA won the $50.00 gift!
We had some great topics, and lots of questions were answered. It was a great event.
Our November event was not well attended with only 12 members present. The speaker, however, was fantastic! Our speaker was from the Komen Foundation. I have attended many education sessions about breast cancer, but this one was the best, by far. Excellent program.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our January 14th meeting. Our speaker will be Leslie Ruminski, MSW. Some of you may remember her from the last OSMA Annual conference. Her topic will be an interactive Quality Improvement. She is a dynamic speaker that you will truly enjoy.
We will also be taking nominations for officers and delegates, and will discuss our chapter Bylaws. These will need to be ratified (voted on) in March, along with our elections. We will be back at Providence Portland Conference Center Amphitheatre.
For our Chapter Christmas Giving this year, we gave $150.00 to the Providence Center for Fragile Children. This is a miraculous place for kids with severe special needs. They do have a wish-list; however, the Board felt that with the gift of money, they could choose where they may need it most. Thank you to Diana and Donna for being the Santa’s helpers on this event.
We look forward to seeing all of you in 2012! Come and see us and join in the camaraderie! We have some wonderful topics and speakers lined up just for you.

RCCMA Education Meeting date changed!!!
We have had to change our September 10th meeting to October 8th. The September 10th meeting has been canceled.
Please be sure to join us on October 8th, at Providence Portland. Watch for signs in the east lobby.
We are looking forward to seeing the new students! We will have a few fund raising events that day as well: a Uniform sale, basic blues, but only $10.00 a set. We do have more bottoms than tops, and those are only $5.00. Thanks to Bill Honeycutt!!
We will also have a book table: $1.00 for hardbacks and .50 for paper. These are mostly novels and quick lunchtime books! Enjoy a much loved story!!
We will have a special event for the students that are in attendance! We will have membership forms available, and information about AAMA. Refreshments will be served too!
We look forward to seeing all of you on October 8th!

River Cities Chapter Information…
River Cities Chapter encompasses the northwest (NW) corner of Oregon in a regional chapter Plan. Our borders are: North: Columbia River, West: Pacific Ocean, South: Tillamook/Netarts, east to Estacada, then north over the mountain to The Dalles and Hood River.
River Cities Chapter provides a variety of educational CE events throughout the year. These are held at Providence Portland Hospital Conference Center. Dates and topics are emailed to members. We hold education events during the months when there is not a state sponsored educational event taking place. Please be sure you have submitted or updated your email address with the national membership department, as this is where we obtain our email addresses.
We look forward to seeing you at these events. We will also have a short business meeting about the chapter, state and national level issues that you need to be aware of.
