Oregon Society of Medical Assistants is a tri-level structure dedicated to professionals like you. There are eight (8) classifications of membership; one just right to meet your needs:

Active: Any Certified Medical Assistant; or an active member who has maintained continuous membership since 12-31-87.

Associate: a medical assistant who is not yet an AAMA Certified Medical Assistant, and does not fall into any other membership category.

Affiliate: one who has an interest in medical assisting but does not fall into any other category.

Sustaining: a member (2 years) who has retired from medical assisting and who has not entered into any other profession.

 

Student: one who is enrolled in a medical assisting program carrying a minimum of six hours per week per term. A student membership may be retained for one additional dues year.

Honorary: shall be one not eligible for any other category of membership, but has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of medical assisting and/or the Oregon State Society.

Life: a member who has been awarded this membership by the House of Delegate of the Oregon State Society.

Member at Large: one who meets all requirements for membership but has no component chapter in the area of residence.

Annual dues include membership in your local chapter, Oregon Society of Medical Assistants (OSMA) and American Association of Medical Assistants, (AAMA) our national affiliate.
