Medical Assistant of the Year 2010

The independent judges told me this was a very difficult decision because all of the candidates were highly qualified and displayed exceptional qualities of professionalism.

All three candidates are clearly stellar and should make everyone proud. I wish it could be a three-way tie. All three candidates are deserving and the offices which employ these women are very fortunate, as are the patients they touch.

This year’s Medical Assistant of the Year Award winner for 2010 is:

Joy Cundiff, CMA (AAMA)

From River Cities Chapter

This year’s recipient has excellent references from patients, employees and is dedicated to her chapter. In a letter on Joy’s behalf this person writes “I have found this person to be very consciences and dedicated to patient care. She worked long hours to ensure that the patients that we both cared for received the best care that was available and were kept appraised of their health. She was involved in many leadership issues here at my office. She gave back to her community in addition to her service at my office. I am honored to endorse her nomination for CMA of the Year and would give due consideration not only to her great accomplishments, but also to her wonderful personality and caring soul.

Another writes “Through her commitment and compassion for our patients, her tireless support of my efforts, her positive attitude, honesty and strong work ethic, she quickly earned my trust that never wavered, as we became a team with a goal of delivering the best care to our patient. By her commitment and example she made her co-workers and me better and our patients benefited. It is this gift that distinguishes her service to others and that makes her a deserving candidate for this award.

This person has received many awards but says she values the commendations from her patients above all. She says “When you make a difference in someone’s treatment, when you really care, then you know how special it is to be a CMA.
