Outstanding Educator of the Year 2010

This year’s Outstanding Educator of the Year Award winner for 2010 is:

Johnny Adamson, CMA-AC (AAMA)

From River Cities Chapter

This person is being recognized for her long term and multi-faceted contribution to the future of medical assisting education.

When I started reading her CV of all the things that she has accomplished I learned a lot more about her that I didn’t know. This lady is a very caring and giving person of herself to her students, co-workers and fellow CMA’s.

One person writes of her, “Her active service and exemplary leadership at all three levels of our professional association bring honor and recognition to the profession of medical assisting. She deserves to be recognized by her peers for her love for and dedication to medical assisting education. Her spirit, enthusiasm and outstanding contribution to the OSMA and career of medical assisting are evident in her actions. Her knowledge of the inner workings of our organization is amazing. I urge you to bestow this highly coveted award to her. She has dedicated her life to the profession of medical assisting. The OSMA has reaped the benefits of her dedication over the past 38 years since she became a member and a valuable asset to our professional organization. We are very lucky to have her as a mentor, leader, teacher, role model and most of all a friend.”

Another writes, “This ladies character is exemplary. I have never met another individual with such style and grace. She has perfected the art and the skill of asserting her influence while fully and completely respecting the needs of others. This enables her to flawlessly make her way through some of the most difficult dilemmas whether they are personal, professional, financial or other wise. When situations have overwhelmed and exasperated me, I have always been able to turn to her and get a positive outcome. There is no human being that I would trust more to be there when times get tough. These attributes are combined with her perpetual positive attitude that inserts a sense of support that can turn even the most challenging event into a creative endeavor. There is no person more deserving of this award you are considering bestowing upon her. If I had such an award to give, she would receive it.”

Another writes, “This lady has been an outstanding leader at the local, state and national levels, giving of herself constantly and with unselfish regard as leadership applies to membership at all levels. Members come to here constantly for advice, knowledge, for assurance, for support, for a pat on the back, for the good of the association, for personal growth. She will travel anywhere to inform and help new members and new chapters. Without a doubt her influence among local and state members has been very significant. Her attitude is one of sharing.
