The Oregon Society of Medical Assistants (OSMA) is part of a tribi-level professional organization that supports medical assistants through education, mentorship, professional networking, and right to practice through AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants). OSMA is the State Society that serves the medical assistants in the State of Oregon. Our site also provides information on local Chapter levels for Chapter members.

Each member of AAMA benefits from membership in the national organization (AAMA) and , the state level (OSMA). and the local Chapter level. Educational opportunities exist at all both levels. All medical assistants are required to keep their credential current through continuing education. As a CMA (AAMA), members must earn 60 CEUs every 5 years in order to recertify. OSMA utilizes the website as a way to keep in touch with our members and make sure everyone knows where to get the CEUs they need.

Membership is open to all professional medical assistants, managers, and other medical professionals, but most of our members have earned the CMA (AAMA) credential. The educational opportunities that are provided by OSMA are open to all medical assistants, and membership entitles members to earn these CEUs at a discounted rate and often at no cost to the member.

We would like to encourage you to join AAMA if you are not a member already and start enjoying the benefits of membership. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website!
