The Medical Assistant (MA) is a member of the primary care team who provides direct patient care and provider support. The goal is to provide coordinated patient centered clinical support related to visit-level care. The MA facilitates the coordinated planning of office visits via patient and team collaboration, the initial rooming of patients during office visits (including medication reconciliation, risk factor review, and health maintenance review), provider support during office visits, reviews with patient the plan of care, and assists with follow-up as needed. In addition, the MA may also perform in-office testing and clinic services (phlebotomy, EKG, hearing and vision testing, etc.), preparation and maintenance of exam rooms, maintenance of patient records, and other tasks as requested by medical providers.

• Previsit chart scrub (EMR) (Including, but not limited to referral reports, review medications, allergies, future and standing lab orders, and preventive care needs)
• Visit prep: procedures/vaccine prep/foot exam
• Medication and allergy reconciliation
• Rooming the patient (including, but not limited to vitals/medical records/history)
• Care of the clinic, maintain cleanliness

Skills & Knowledge
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must have excellent written, verbal, telephone, and interpersonal communication skills. Familiarity/experience with client interaction on the telephone. Knowledge of available basic community services. Basic typing skills (such as 30 WPM). Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows® operating system. EHR experience, EPIC experience a plus.

Job Summary Medical Assistant Instructor:
The Medical Assisting Instructor will teach classes for the medical assisting program. As an
instructor you will assist in developing curriculum, grading examinations, answering student
questions and training students to be the best in their career. Through support and coaching,
the instructor will promote and direct successful student learning. While complying with all state
and federal laws.


Requirements Medical Assistant instructor:
•Must have MA certification
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant
•Knowledge of teaching methods, curriculum, and education programs, academic and/orvocational criteria


Duties and Responsibilities Medical Assistant instructor:
•Have a strong understanding of topics to be taught and prepare well for lectures.
•Creates a learning environment that encourages student involvement and participation
•Participates in and contributes to curriculum development by planning, developing, andevaluating new and existing courses and curriculum.
•Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
•Integrates a variety of instructional techniques and enhancements, consistent with thephysical resources of the teaching site, to reflect student needs/capabilities, and learning
•Prepares class sessions and assignments to help students grasp course content andhow it integrates with overall student learning outcomes for the course.
•Teaches courses according to the syllabi descriptions and in accordance with definedcourse standards and outcomes.
•Documents students’ attendance, participation, and academic progress by giving andgrading assignments, projects, quizzes and/or examinations that lead to a final grade,including feedback.
•Maintains and disseminates current information pertaining to services available tostudents throughout the school.
•Continued professional development and certification requirements.
•Performs other responsibilities requested by supervisor when requested.
•Work is normally performed in a typical interior-office work environment or lab.
•Normally seated, standing or walking at will; requires ability to bend, lift and carry up to50 lbs.
