LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to the Oregon Society of Medical Assistants (OSMA)!
It is truly my honor to welcome you—whether you are a long-time member, a new face, or someone simply exploring what OSMA has to offer. I am so glad you are here.
OSMA holds a special place in my heart because of the connections, growth, and support it provides to medical assistants across our state. This organization is more than just a professional association—it is a community of individuals who are dedicated to excellence in patient care and committed to lifting one another up.
Our mission is to support you through education, advocacy, and meaningful connection. Throughout the year, we offer multiple educational opportunities, including our annual spring conference, where we come together to learn, share experiences, and celebrate the vital role medical assistants play in healthcare. These moments of connection are what make OSMA so impactful.
Serving as your President is both a privilege and a responsibility I take seriously. I am grateful to work alongside a passionate and dedicated Board that is focused on strengthening our organization and ensuring that your membership brings value, opportunity, and support.
I encourage you to get involved in any way that feels right for you—attend an event, volunteer, or simply reach out and connect. OSMA is here for you, and we are stronger because of each member who is part of this community.
Thank you for being here and for all that you do every day as a medical assistant.
Kind Regards,

Paula Purdy, CMA (AAMA)
OSMA President, 2026–2027
